The Tribeca series is a mix of lamps, pendants and chandeliers, all inspired by New York City glamour in the late 1930's. The name Tribeca refers to a very popular part of New York on lower west Manhattan - the triangle below Canal Street.

The various shapes and designs in the Tribeca series were created in an inspiring creative process where Søren Rose Studio traveled the States searching for beautiful old lamps and reusable parts. All the parts were separated, rated and arranged, and then gathered again, mix and match style, until these new and much bolder designs appeared.

This feature, in combination with the elegant details and the glamorous feel, makes each Tribeca lamp a retro-chic piece of art.

Søren Rose Studio

Søren Rose is a talented Danish entrepreneur and designer with a past as a creative director within the web and photography industry. His dream of having his own studio came true in 2008, and today he lives in New York where he operates the highly popular Søren Rose Studio. Rose explains ”And here I am, 6 years later, with branches in Copenhagen and New York." To understand how Scandinavian poise can marry with downtown grit a visit to Soren’s New York City Hudson Loft will do. Both offices embrace a noticeable paradox to create original interiors, products and furnishings that are minimally raw and masterfully crafted, yet elegantly refined.

The Søren Rose team encompasses an incredible set of skills within architecture, product design and manufacturing. The studio strives to provide clients with any level of service they wish, whether it’s designing a beautiful light fixture or a clients’ future residence. "We run a flat organisation; and, thus, if the junior designer has the best idea that’s what we go with. The studio's make up is on style, sensibility and sustainability in their overall approach for value in long-term design collaborations with like-minded people to propel the studio's mission forward.

Perpetually curious and self-motivated, Søren Rose goes by just one rule for every design and every company he starts – "if you don’t have passion for it, don’t do it." As a self-identified minimalist who still accepts himself as a materialist, he is continuously propelled to upgrade, by the captivation when innovation and style collide. The comprehensive philosophy is simple, don't be afraid to question, reinvent and challenge a shift in an industry.

Tribeca Series

The series is filled with pieces that can be used in a variety of configurations to create a dramatic statement. The industrial and functional character of Tribeca is designed to be suitable for both living rooms, kitchens, offices and bars.

The name Tribeca refers to a very popular part of New York in lower West Manhattan, the triangle below Canal Street. The Tribeca series of lamps started with a classic American road trip.

Danish designer Søren Rose travelled across the US collecting lamps from the early to the mid 20th century. He took his cache back to the studio in New York, dismantled and reassembled them, mixing and matching lamps. All the parts were rated and arranged, until these new and much bolder designs emerged. Out of this experimentation the Tribeca series was born, inspired by the glamour of New York in the late 1930s.

The features, in combination with the elegant details, make the Tribeca array of lamps, pendants and chandeliers a series of retro-chic pieces of art. The Tribeca designs’ elongated arms expand into space in a manner both sculptural and pragmatic, demonstrating how simple this series ideal lighting solution can be.

The original pieces were built upon warm brass interiors creating light that is at once unobtrusive and beautiful. Updates on the classic look kept the profile minimalist while adding a touch of femininity to the silhouette. These changes have provided a look that can be used in any number of settings, from a home kitchen to a public cafe.
